As a trauma-informed organization, Erie County Department of Social Services (ECDSS) incorporates the five principles of trauma-informed care (collaboration, safety, trustworthiness, empowerment, and choice) throughout its services to promote resilience and healing.  ECDSS is seeking proposals from qualified community-based agencies to provide juvenile delinquency prevention and diversion programs to youth, 16 to 17 years of age (at the time of offense; services may continue through the age of 23), who are now included in the juvenile justice system due to NYS “Raise the Age” Legislation.  These youth, formerly subject to prosecution in the adult system, have specific needs that differ from the younger population historically served by the juvenile justice system.  ECDSS is seeking to work collaboratively with community agencies to provide for those needs and increase positive outcomes.
